Synopsis

The walls, some of them plastered, others with bare brick, are the frame for the cry of a fat woman who is sitting in a corner. Other grey-haired woman waits alone, distressed in other corner of the room. A hyper active dumb passes by carrying boxes with milk that are shared out between mothers and children. Everyone clings to the milk as if it was a precious treasure. The “Chino” (Chinese) is seeing a terminal patient in the kitchen, then, he puts his Doctor’s coat, eats a sandwich, gives a maternity book to a drug addict delinquent in recuperation and finally prepares himself for the Diploma Ceremony of the Health Course he had invented. The women receive their Diplomas with emotion.
“A Classist and Combative Chinese Tale” is a documentary about a doctor that, from his humble health ward in the peripheral “La Matanza” Neighborhood, has invented a health system, supported in human resources from the neighborhood and almost without any support from the State that gives attention to thousands of people. He is also a revolutionary who found his place in the world, who believes struggle is constant, who deeply loves human beings and who knows his life wouldn’t make sense if he wasn’t doing what he stands for even though deep down he knows his triumph is unlikely.
